'Monet Legall' - Oil Painting
I named my daughter Monet after the Impressionist artist. This painting is dedicated to her and to the lasting impression she carries forward through her heritage and identity.
At the centre of the composition is Monet’s portrait, surrounded by the faces of her parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. All in order, these interlinked figures share eyes and features, symbolising the continuity of lineage, memory, and cultural inheritance that flows through generations. The work reflects how personal history, family, and ancestry converge within a single individual.
